Synths ⇝ Ensoniq ⇝ Ensoniq MR Expansion Boards

The Ensoniq EXP series of expansion boards is compatible with the MR-61, MR-76, MR-Rack, ZR-76 (which can take 3 cards) and ASR-X (which can take 1). They contain from 2MB to 24MB of sounds.

The following cards were produced:

• EXP-1 - Real World (24MB) [$500 retail]
• EXP-2 - Drum (2MB) [$119.95 list]
• EXP-3 - Urban Dance Project (24MB) [$500 retail]
• EXP-4 - Coakley Perfect Piano (16MB)

The EXP-2 is not necessary in the MR keyboards. It was meant to add the missing drum sounds from those into the MR-Rack.

The EXP-4 board is built into the Ensoniq ZR-76.

In addition, the MRC-1 "Synth Banks" ROM sound card containing 180 sounds was available for use in the MR series card slot ($99.95 list).
