The SY85 is an AWM2-based synthesizer with sampling capabilities and digital multi-effects. It is available in rackmount form as the Yamaha TG500. It is a more powerful follow-up to the SY55 with a larger wave ROM.
The built-in sequencer can record 8 normal plus 1 rhythm track and can sequence up to 100 patterns. Voice data, sequencer data, and samples can be loaded from and saved to a 3.5" double-density floppy disk. It also has expansion card slots and a number of expansion cards available. Voice data can also be saved to an MCD64 RAM card.
It comes with 512kB of sample RAM and can be expanded to 3.5 MB via optional SYEMB06 memory boards.
