The JV-35 supports both General MIDI and Roland GS. Polyphony can be increased with the VE-GS1 voice expansion board, which doubles the polyphony to 56. The sound ROM can be expanded with the VE-JV1 expansion board, which contains 4MB of waveform data and 512 preset patches. The JV-35 is similar to the Roland JV-50, but lacks the MIDI file playback.
