The K5000S is an additive synthesizer. It is similar to the K5000W, but lacks the waveform ROM and adds 16 real-time control knobs.

The K5000 series can be upgraded with the ME-1 expansion. It adds two additional banks of patches, E and F.

It is available in rackmount form as the Kawai K5000R.
