The Yamaha TF1 is not a standalone synthesizer, but rather a plug-in module that can be used in the Yamaha TX216 and TX816. Each TF1 represents a full DX7 32-algorithm FM synthesizer with 16 notes of polyphony, so the number of notes available to a TX chassis is the number of modules times 16 (up to 128).

Like the DX7, the TF1 uses 6-operator FM synthesis with 32 available algorithms. It uses a standard CR2032 3v lithium battery to maintain its patch memories.

It can be difficult to find information on the TF1 because Yamaha released a digital mixer with the model TF-1. If you add the keywords "FM" to your search, it should help.
