The MU1000 is a stripped-down version of the MU2000 without a built-in sequencer or sampler. A firmware upgrade makes this unit an MU1000EX, adding Roland GS support and new effects. The unit supports General Midi (GM), General MIDI 2 (GM2), and XG.
