With virtual analog, AWM2, sampling, and FDSP (Formulated Digital Signal Processing) engines, the EX7 is a less-powerful version of the Yamaha EX5. It has half of the polyphony of the EX5 and lacks the virtual acoustic synthesis. It also lacks the ability to combine analog modeling and FDSP synthesis AN+FDSP mode.
