The Yamaha DX1 features a dual 6-operator FM synth engine and was the high-end flagship model of the Yamaha DX line of synthesizers when it was released. It can be thought of as a pair of DX7 synthesizers built into the same case with a bigger weighted wooden keyboard and fancier control panel.
