Unlike the other members of the Sound Expansion series of rack modules, the M-SE1 does not have the same sounds as one of the SR-JV80 expansion boards. It is part of a set of modules based on the SR-JV80 expansion boards, but is the only one that doesn't correspond directly to a specific expansion. The other modules in the set are the M-BD1, M-DC1, M-OC1, and M-VS1.
