The NX5R is a black version of the NS5R with a built-in Yamaha XG synthesizer with 32 notes of polyphony (containing 676 normal voices and 21 drum programs). An XG daughterboard was optional on the NS5R, but is included in the NX5R.
It was followed by the N1R, a full-size rack module with a larger sample ROM.
We do not have a manual for the NX5R, but the NS5R is similar enough that you can get a lot of good information from that manual.
