A budget late 1980's tone module, the EMT-10 contains 12 waveform-based ROM voices and has 8 notes of polyphony. The EMT-1 from the same time period is an FM-based complement to the EMT-10.
Due to its inexpensiveness and simplicity, it is often used for circuit bending.
