The JX-8P is an analog synthesizer that is edited via selecting and adjusting parameters rather than via front-panel knobs. For easier parameter control, it can be programmed using a Roland PG-800 programmer.
It has two digitally-controlled oscillators and built-in chorus.
It was released after the Roland JX-3P and has a similar sound. The Roland JX-10 is an upgraded version of the JX-8P with doubled polyphony.
