The Korg Triton Extreme is a later variant of the Triton with a greatly expanded ROM. It lacks the SCSI connector of the Triton Studio, but has two USB ports plus a CompactFlash slot and adds a Valve Force tube circuit originally found on the Electribe series.

This synthesizer's larger ROM includes all of the waveforms from the Trans Attack, Vintage Archive, Orchestral Collection, and Concert Grand Piano expansion boards plus partial sets from the Dance Extreme, Pianos/Classic Keyboards, and Studio Essentials boards.

The sampler is compatible with AIFF, WAV, Akai S1000, and Korg format sample data. It ships with 16 MB of sample RAM and can be expanded to 96 MB.

The Triton Extreme was available on 61, 76, and 88 key versions and can be expanded with a MOSS multi-oscillator synthesis system board.
