The Proteus FX features the sounds of the Proteus/1, Proteus/2, and Proformance piano module combined in a single unit, and with an upgraded effects processor.

When the internal memory battery dies, the unit will not power on properly. Once you replace the battery, you will need to perform a factory reset. The battery is a less common CR2330, but a CR2032 will fit in its place, and the battery clip is tight enough that it will work without any issue.

To perform a factory reset, hold both CURSOR keys down and turn on the power at the same time. The unit will boots up in the DIAGNOSTIC test menu. Release the CURSOR keys and turn the DATA WHEEL until you see INITIALIZE option. Press the HOME/ENTER button twice to re-initialize the patch memories. Then power off and back on to go back to normal operation mode.
