The Shure SM58 is probably the most common vocal microphone in the world, and is very popular for live sound due to its mix of quality, price, and durability. The signature carbon-grey body with silver-grey grille is easily recognizable. It has been produced for more than 50 years.

There is also an SM58S version, which is identical, but adds an on-off switch.
