Alesis

Alesis started in Hollywood, California and began by producing digital reverb effects units. The company later expanded its offerings to include sequencers, drum machines, synthesizers, and audio recording units. In the 1990s, they released the ADAT digital recording technology, which could record 8 digital tracks simultaneously and units could be chained in order to record up to 128 digital tracks.

In 2001, Alesis had financial difficulties and was sold to Jack O'Donnell, who went on to create inMusic brands, which includes Alesis.
