Yamaha TG-77

The TG-77 is a hybrid synthesizer that combines FM and AWM2 synthesis for some very expansive sound creation capabilities. Yamaha refers to the FM synthesis as AFM, meaning Advanced Frequency Modulation. The "advanced" part comes from the availability of extra oscillator waveforms -- 16 in all.
The TG-77 is a rackmount version of the SY-77. It lacks a sequencer, but is otherwise nearly identical.
Specifications:
Year Released: 1990
Maximum Polyphony: 16 PCM + 16 AWM
FM Algorithms: 45
FM Waveforms: 16
PCM Wave Memory: 4MB (112 waveforms)
Multitimbral: 16 parts
Effects Processors: 2
Patches: 192 (128 Preset, 64 User-Programmable, 16 Multis)
Audio Outputs: 12x 1/4 inch (2x stereo pair, 8x individual)
Display: 240x64 pixel LCD
Yamaha LSI Chips used in the TG-77:
YM3029 (x3) - DAC. There are 12 outputs and 3 of these DACs, so it appears that the TG-77 feeds four channels per DAC.
